Sofiia Ringis is a Media Production and Design student at Carleton University, minoring in Communications and Media Studies. She eagerly blends skills in storytelling, design, research, critical analysis, and media production in her work.

Sofiia has a passion for data visualization and impactful storytelling, believing that thoughtful interpretation of data can transform communication, journalism, and civic engagement. Her interest in media and politics began in high school, where she actively participated in debating societies and wrote articles on Ukrainian politics, the Russian occupation of Crimea, and the influence of Russian opposition on Ukraine. In 2022, she presented her research, “The formation of an authoritarian regime during Vladimir Putin’s first presidential term,” at an international conference organized by Internauka. Prior to the full-scale war in Ukraine, she was also enrolled as a political science major at Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
