Dr. Balkan Devlen is an internationally recognized expert, professor, and advisor writing, speaking, and teaching on international affairs and geopolitics with over two decades of experience across three continents.

He advises governments, private sector, and non-profit clients worldwide on geopolitics, forecasting, and strategic foresight. He qualified as a "Superforecaster" in the US intelligence community (IARPA) sponsored geopolitical forecasting competition Good Judgment Project and provided advice and training for defence and intelligence agencies of NATO and Five Eyes countries, major financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies and UN agencies.

Previously, he was a professor in Denmark, the US, and Turkey and taught graduate-level courses on Transatlantic security, geopolitical forecasting, strategic foresight, and global catastrophic and existential risks.

He published several academic articles and book chapters and his public commentary has appeared in The Globe and Mail, National Post, Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, The Hub, The Hill, and Inside Policy, among other outlets. He is a regular contributor to major Canadian media, including CBC, CTV, Global News, and national radio programs.

He is Senior Fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, an expert geopolitical forecaster for Good Judgment, Inc. , and an Adjunct Research Professor at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University. He is also a Founding Board Member of the Alliance for Global Security (AGS), and Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Geoeconomics.
